Just a reminder ..Starting today in California… Diesel Trucks & Buses with engines made before 2010 are banned. This is over 70k vehicles. It also applies to Trucks entering California and the ports.

Less efficiency and movement to other ports will cost us all.

Drivers can’t just abandon their trucks and pay what has been outrageous prices for used or new ones.

Remember when hippies went to Cali in old busses?

Yep..Supreme Court denied them.

They essentially did away with owner operators as independent contractors. They have have authority and follow all the compliance they used to not have to.

They can’t operate.

It is roughly 10% of current Cali Commerical vehicles.

The owner-operator laws push drivers to have to work for firms. Individually the compliance is just too much.

Wow.

I can see other ports stepping up.

Or

Send trucks in to get the trailers and transfer them to other trucks across state lines.

This will also hurt business in the state who operate older trucks and most likely most are small businesses.

So, all I need is my 2009 Kenworth with its 2009 engine, and a receipt for swapping to a 2015 engine? Receipts are cheap.

CARB doesn’t frick around. They’d hook up a diag tool and figure that out in 15 seconds.

Plenty of this has been planned for a while. Many drivers moved out to other markets.

Ports are the biggest hit as they already couldn’t get items moved.

They are phasing out all diesel by 2040 I think.

Currently think there are just a couple zero emissions rigs that even exist.

They actually check the ELDs out there..another reason they wanted owner operators gone. End their loopholes.

So if you are on a road trip and I am driving a 2009 Diesel Truck are they going to kick me out?

There has to be people in their state government who is heavily invested in EVs.

Its like they are forcing whoever they can to get rid of their gas vehicle and manipulate the laws to make it in their best interest to buy EVs. Politicians are the biggest stock manipulators in the world.
