I get them wanting a lot of publicity and all that, but if it gets more people out and helping, I don't see a problem.

It's just like commercials for Red Cross and all of those other charities. They show their good deeds to get people to help with either man power or money. Either way is fine with me.

I’d have no problem with them looking for money and manpower. Unfortunately, a lot of them are looking for “likes”. They’re no better than the Instagram Models.

They're like the guys who run charter boats. Never pass up a good opportunity to refer to themselves as "captain." That shite cracks me up

Well, to be fair, they do have to get a "six-pack" license from the US Coast Guard (USCG), which is also called a "Charterboat Captain's License" by the USCG, to legally operate a for-hire charter fishing boat.

Do they have jobs? Genuinely curious how they can always be available just like that.

Kinda over the Cajun Navy now. They now have filed 503c. Are excepting government aid and can no longer just "go help people" They have to be dispatched and work along side the authorities with permissions. That wasn't what a bunch of us signed up for. We just wanted to show up, loosely coordinate and help as much and as fast as possible. During Harvey last year they probably didn't help half the people they said they did. Locals did a lot of the work while they piled up in front of a camera and took credit. Bunch of us that stopped associating with them done so much more and could get things to folks so much quicker. Noticed they are kinda turning into glory hounds and polo shirt, high end flip flop wearing, new boat pulling, baws looking for a camera to get in front of while they launch there boat in the ditch. If you look in the background of those reports and pics. That's us still helping folks. just saying truth hurts. Its now a business with bank accounts and begging for donations (which people do need) in front of Academy when the government has kicked in big dollars for them to purchase those supplies. Want be long they will have stores open like Goodwill. I can see it now. (Cajun Navy Rescue Depot). There where hundreds maybe even thousand or 2 boats and trucks in Lake Charles (waiting for orders). No one needs to give you an order, launch your boat get in the neighbor hoods and help.

Well 35hp GTRs just aren't fast enough. They need an upgrade too.
