I don't see "get off my plane" painted on the doorstep.

Sicily is huge. A blind student pilot in a Cub could drop on it.

Meh, I love the 130, but most likely transitioning to 17's in the next few months. It will be in a non airdrop role though.

I did my night AJ for my senior wings out of a CASA 212 on Sicily. Then got thoroughly “pinned” by my baws from 3rd SFGA when we were done.

To hell with all that baw. Us Air Force folks go back to our downtown Marriott and watch our enlisted spend 3x their per diem on shots for the bar.

I was in the middle of my Private Pilot training and while working on cross country to the East, my instructor and I requested a full stop in Gulfport. The tower cleared us for 14, with a right base entry to the pattern, but told us to “maintain a minimum of 1,500’ to stay clear of heavy traffic also in the pattern.”

I heard the heavy traffic on the radio taking off, then call Right Cross, then right downwind, and confirm a ceiling of 1,000’ but I had no clue what it was. All of a sudden I see it (seemingly) climbing right for us! It passed directly under us, about 500’ clear, and my instructor was able to get a picture:

I was in a Piper Cherokee 160 and could feel it—not only as it passed, but for a while after. Definitely one of the coolest flight experiences I’ve had.

The original picture is a Live Photo and it is awesome, but I don’t know how to make a gif.

You should try being in one of those things when they do a tactical takeoff and decent! Something that big should not do what it is doing and sitting on a jump seat with shipping containers around you really increases pucker factor! You just really hope the load master did a good job securing shite.

Got to see one show off at an air show last summer. Went from flying to taxiing backwards in what seemed like 10 feet. Absolutely nuts.

Wings Over Houston 2020? Saw the same thing there. That plane is unbelievably huge.

If there's a way to do that, I've never heard of it. Cool picture either way.

Here's my best close ups from the cockpit(No where near as good as the one you posted). An AA Triple 7 climbing out of DFW while we were fat dumb and happy at cruise:

This one was funny because our TCAS was yelling "TRAFFIC TRAFFIC" whilst I was snapping the picture. I wasn't too concerned as I obviously had a good view of the intruder.

Here's another of my lead aircraft while in formation at cruise altitude on the way home from some drops at Ft. Polk. Note the D-Day invasion stripes on the wings. That tail participated in the 75th anniversary D-Day re-enactment drops in France.

And a bonus picture I took of Tiger Stadium with no grass last year. Found this one while searching for the other two.

Obviously all low quality images taken with my cell phone

God I love that airport. Free car rentals for military and a Buc-ees right up the 35.

And it's a top notch facility all around.

Nah. Just trying to be nice. All of my C130 jumps just sucked. There is just no way around it.

ETA: I did do a jumping JM duty for a C130 tailgate jump with 112th SO SIG BN. That was awesome.
