Incorrect. You can stop payment on those as well.

In our parish the DA will assist in collecting an NSF check, but not a stop-payment.

How do you take a check from a stranger and not immediate cash if?

The younger Ed Osteen in me says to catch him in his work parking lot and get your money, but that isn’t the best idea

used a large portion of the 3k to buy a pair of dress shoes...

Pics?

A large portion isn't close to the full amount. Was a pair of carmina semi brogues with their shoe trees. Haven't gotten them in yet. That's a large portion to me when its reference to shoes, haha. Also have to factor what I have to get my wife to offset it.

3K is grand larceny, tell him to pay you for the item or get charged

It was the weekend. We deposited immediately through our app. Still pending though.

I dont know the laws if he's willing to return (If that's even legitimate). I'd assume I would be forced to take it back before he'd be charged with anything?

You ripped me off. That's why I stopped the check a-hole.

Worked with him more than I should have and sold at a very good price.

Well you sure as frick don't have the money now, so your only option is getting your item back.

If you spent a little less time sucking yourself off in the version favored towards you that you told above you'd have more time to sell the item for a more favorable price to yourself

The best thing to do is to get the item back. If he didn't mess up anything then you he got it back.. Just move on..

If he does not have the item to return then he can call the cops, but while it worked out for your friend, I doubt they can really do anything. Or will do anything. That's low priority to them.

According to his bank (I called), the stop payment "wasn't successful", soooo it sounds like I do have the money. Have to confirm in the morning. Sounds like I do have some options.

I am against it on principle. Not going to give in to a piece of sh*t who cancels a check.

So he said he would return it right? He could have canceled the check and you never hear from him again. Go get it.. And move on. Or yeah.. Out of principle you can just be without the money and let him keep the item.. That's a wonderful thing to do.

Yeah. If you need anything, you know who to ask for any kind of help with anything.

because the police give a frick about a non payment on a Facebook marketplace purchase. Your best bet is to either make the guy pay you or go retrieve the item then relist it

Yeah, keep his money and tell him to frick off. It’s pretty simple
