Corrected Tropical Storm Watch end point to Surf City in summary

...TROPICAL DEPRESSION FORMS OFF THE COAST OF EAST-CENTRAL
FLORIDA...
...TROPICAL STORM WATCH ISSUED FOR A PORTION OF THE NORTH CAROLINA
COAST...

If were are going to do this like the stupid virus overplay shouldn't we shut down the entire East and Gulf Coasts and all evacuate inland 500 miles right now ? Then we must wait two weeks to return a quarter of the way home be sure it is safe b/c we won't ever get back to 'normal' ?

Not sure if you're just trying to be funny, but I believe this. I'm in central Alabama, there have been forecasts of hurricane strength winds getting here on numerous occasions. In the past, at most, they might shut down schools a half day, close a few businesses if it gets real bad.
Now, I fully expect everything will be ordered shut down and curfews enacted, regardless of actual results

This would be a really really bad time (I know, it would always be a bad time but...) for a major storm to hit anywhere. All these people affected would be confined together in shelters and the Covid crap would be magnified with 2000 ppl huddled in the XYZ Center seeking refuge.

Jeez, come on weather gods, give us a break this year. I’ll buy a fatted lamb and sacrifice it in your honor, just let us know what you want.

Karen was actually a name for 2019. The NHC was a year early with that name.

Karen hit the MS coast on 2013 but fortunately it was very disorganized. A small amount of rain in the late afternoon.
