That's possible. I know for a similar organization, SWE, males are ecouraged to be a part of the organization.
I haven't dealt with this particular convention, but of the others seeing men there isn't usually that much of a deal. Not sure if this was just way over the top from normal.

It is wholly inappropriate to question the “truth” or “accuracy” of these individuals.
If they say they are women, non-binary, transgender, etc., who are these cisgender women to question them?

I once applied to a job, same credentials and resume, just one as my name and M sex and the other with a girl name and F sex, you’ll never guess which one got the phone call. I used my same address and number for both.

Everyone seemed pretty happy when some ridiculous percentage of kids/teens were “identifying” as xyz nonsense… are you not capable of extrapolating where this is heading? Hint: this women’s non-binary tech event. Highly sought after jobs are hiring based on race and gender alone?
