Don't get me wrong... it was never an "issue" or anything to "get over". I'm just saying on the rare occasion I think about it I feel sorry for that poor kid and any kids going through the same.

Fair enough, I guess I'm a little oversensitive to the victim syndrome thing these days....

From what I say, it seemed like most guys are bullied during the younger years. But they don't all perceive it that way. Some view it as playful banter, some just don't view it as worth the time to acknowledge, others banter back, while still others fight back.

Whether or not it continues is usually determined by how both parties read each other and respond.

I was bullied a little in elementary school, nothing too major, but then i was bullied pretty bad once i got to junior high; we moved a lot and i was always the new kid, plus i was chubby with glasses, so i guess i was an easy target.. once i got to high school, i pretty much blended in (and hit a growth spurt) so bullying was never an issue again.. I have mixed feelings about the anti-bullying movement; on one hand, I remember some pretty dark times, and wouldn't wish that kind of existence on anyone.. but on the other hand, I've done pretty well in life, and I'm at a good place-- and i genuinely believe that any successes I've had are, at the core, rooted in those insecurities and the chip on my shoulder i had from being bullied at times, and wanting to 'prove something' to those people... if i hadnt experienced that, i wonder if i would have been more content with just getting by... i truly dont know the answer.

unfortunately "bullying" is a part of growing up, and as in your case it can turn out to be a positive life lesson

I was bullied by the older kids and I in turned bullied the younger ones. I see no problem with it. I saw the piece on cbs last night at the legion about teen suicide and how cyber bullying is the main culprit. I halfway agree. I think these kids need to unplug. The mtv generatation has really fricked shite up

I was a bully to 1 kid in particular. Looking back on it I feel bad about it. It was never anything physical more verbal, not that it makes it better.

I went to an all white rural private school so there weren't really many bullies. I'm 6'3" so I didn't get picked on too much in HS.

Neither side of bullying nor bullied. There was one specific person that was on my golf team with me that did a bit, but everyone hated that a-hole and no one wanted to be around him. Shockingly he went to prison for a few years for selling cocaine.

No, it's just easy to spot a jackass that thinks he's funny.

Physically bullied, no.

A bit of both verbally.

Mine didn't have any. It was a private school where and our cheerleaders had Confederate flag uniforms as did the basketball court and the football field. It's kind of funny to think about the melt that would cause in 2017.

First time I went to school with a black person was at LSU

I did some fighting with bullies taking up for myself and some of my friends. Some because i was white, some because i was a chubby kid, some just because kids are assholes. Mom told me to stand up for myself or be a victim in the 4th grade when i came home crying about two kids on the bus.. beat up one of them the very next day while the other watched.. my first fight..

By high school i was strong and fast enough to be avoided as a target.

I was one of the biggest kids in elementary, and had a bunch of friends, so never bullied, and never did any bullying. The worst we did was make fun of this albino kid in third grade, which I feel awful about in retrospect.

In jr high this one little arse black kid in home room tried bullying me the first day of school, we never got in a fight, but if I recall correctly (this is 20+ years ago) I stood over his desk and he realized that I was much bigger than him. We were cool after that. Pretty much my first interaction with a black kid since there weren't any in my elementary school.
