Drove through last weekend to check it out.

Whatever these fake "trading post" looking parapets are on the front of the houses look awful.

Not to mention the probably leak like crazy.

Completely ruined the look for me. I know, they probably wanted to change it up from all the other TND's, but they look even worse in person than the rendering.

Other than that, the development looks very nice and I'm a fan of them in general; just couldn't get past that architectural element that's on a good bit of the houses.

it's there to divert roof water run off from dumping right down on people walking up to the house in the rain. I assume they don't come with gutters.

If the trading post sign aint treated wood, it will need painting/replacement every 3 years with the sun/water exposure those will have.

What says the OT about these two developments? Will Woolridge retain its value? Will Harveston increase in value after Wampold is done with all of his developments?

You're greatest appreciation will be with new construction
in a new neighborhood like Harveston.

possibly vinyl considering at that height, no one could really tell, or care to tell for that matter. I'm also quite sure you could get it omitted.

I'd definitely go with Woodridge between the two....but it depends on where you are commuting to every day.

I know a lot of people that live near where that Harveston thing is going up. One of them had some minor crime issues, but it's a convenient area if you work near LSU. They are building a Supercenter pretty close to it though.

An issue with Woodridge is that Pecue lane will have an interchange installed by DOT in a few years. I have no idea what the vacant land next to that subdivision along Pecue is zoned, but it wouldn't shock me if it were a lot of big box retail after the on/off ramps were built.

i don't think crime is going to spill over from wal mart super center down to Harviston. That's a bit of a far fetched assessment. And that Gardere area will change as LSU keeps investing in it.

Agree. Im an architect and this elevation looks about as strange as a dick on a fish. It has potential with that timeless plantation look that people love around here but they ruined it with that parapet. Its two different styles in one not to mention that parapet will leak like a sieve. your just asking for issues with this design.

But what is behind the parapet? Butterfly metal cricket of some sort. Likely flashed incorrectly?

I guarantee when it is all said on done a half round metal gutter would have been cheaper. Not to mention look much nicer.

The home can be built without the parapet.

Not sold on Harveston yet. I think eventually the large neighborhoods between it and Burbank will go south.

Woodridge is a starter home neighborhood.

If you're looking in the 400-450k range in that area check out Lakeside, Oak Hills and Lexington.'

I live in those areas and am about to sell a 2900 SF 4 BR/3 BATH home in your price range. There are several... location, location, location....

UClub is another very good option for you.

Your definition of a starter home is skewed

I would call Nicholson Lakes starter homes, or anything under 2000 sq ft

Won't find anything like that in Woodridge

Anybody have thoughts on Lakes of Jamestown?

Yea Alvarez Construction, 12 different models

I think the cheapest you can buy in there is $280K up to $350K
