Looks to me the cop gives him a pretty weak one arm shove to try and simply create space, and the man being old as hell and moving back at the time lost his balance and fell
Where the officer screwed up was not checking on him and giving aid. If he did that I think people view it different
But, I don’t see him as having the intention to knock the old man down

Intention has nothing to do with the act.
Whatever his intentions, the act was still performed and that was the result.

I don’t think during a protest situation when a perimeter is established that using one arm to create space when a protester doesn’t back up is an outrageous thing to do
But, when it’s an elderly person and they fall, you need to render aid. Simple as that

Which is crazy because the same ones who say this, change their tunes when they discuss politicans/police/military imposing on the 2nd Amendment. Then it's they are willing to go to war with police/military to the death. It becomes then frick THA POLICE & DON'T TREAD ON ME!!!!
