I don't remember the house looking like that. Maybe the exterior of the empty house they raid is more in my mind that Bill's house.

I've seen the house in Perryopolis when we used to live in Pittsburgh. It's not too far from Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater.
The Silence of the Lambs house not any more or less creepy than the houses in the other patch towns around there. It's a little less run down.

I think they mostly just filmed the exterior shots at the house in the article.
