I was always a mark for Buc-ee's until I discovered Sheetz in PA.

I would bet money that Bucee's tried to get some kind of corporate welfare out of those two states like they are IBM or Apple.

Mississippi and Louisiana told them to pound sand....cause there are a fricking gas station.

I was never really impressed with Bucee's. It's a big service station.

What about it being a service station were you unimpressed with? What were you expecting?

I don't get the people that wear their shirts and all of that dumb shite, but it does a pretty good job of providing gas, food, and a place to paint the bowl.

So do many of their competitors, who have smaller footprints thus more locations.

Except that they don't, which is precisely why buccees is so popular.

It isn't popular in Louisiana. In fact, they don't even have a location in Louisiana or Mississippi.

Love's Travel Stops offers clean restrooms and a restaurant...and they are everywhere. So do most of their competitors.

I have no counter argument to that. It's brilliant.

A little farther down Sherwood? That one was already there.

Skipping BR

At the Trends 2017 seminar today, it was implied that Buc-ees backed out of BR because DOTD would not grant them the desired access that they were requesting for the property. If that is accurate, then we, as citizens and tax payers of BR and Louisiana should be LIVID!

Imagine the sales tax dollars being lost!! Huge tax dollars LOST because DOTD wouldn't grant them the requested access. I wonder how the governor feels about this? The way I understood it, Lafayette is losing Buc-ees too over the same issue.

Anyone else went to the Trends seminar today and understood it the same way that I did??

When I spent some time in Richmond, VA there was a Sheetz and Wawa on the same street. Sheetz is great but Wawa's made to order sandwiches are on point.
