Cops pull car over.
Idiot Passenger gets out with gun in hand.
Cop shoots idiotic passenger.
Seems legit.
Moral - don't get out of car in front of cops with gun in hand. Not rocket science.

It gives the dept investigating the incident time to make a ruling.

Moral- Don't be black, out on bail, and pull a weapon on an officer with 4 yrs of experience.
This officer had 3 yrs experience as a deputy with the Iberville Parish Sheriffs Dept. I assume he made a lot of traffic stops by himself in rural areas with very little coverage to back himself up.
A green rookie officer making this traffic stop by himself might have been shot.

And you don't hear them talking about Louisiana is an open carry state. Nothing wrong with getting out with a gun in your hand.
As far as whether the officer is white, I'm pretty sure if you're not black, you're white.
So we got a white cop shootings a black man exercising his right to open carry.

Well brandishing a weapon is not legal.
