Thsi is what’s wrong with BRPD. The chief of police was in a public restaurant and felt “threatened” because someone actually called him out on his bullshite. Smh

Why would Paul approach him? Seems like he was asking for some sort of an escalation

Ciccone confirmed to 9News that Paul approached him and the two began to argue. Ciccone said he was later asked to leave the restaurant. Ciccone also said a friend of his later said that the chief felt threatened and intimidated by Ciccone

Was anything added to your quote of article above? It’s different now at the link. Article was edited, but it doesn’t state what was edited.

Article now
quote:

Ciccone claims that he and Paul got into a verbal argument about the matter. Ciccone said he was later asked to leave the restaurant.

Aren’t the police trained to deescalate?

I'm no Paul Murphy fan but its his fault that these thugs are going out and murdering people? I mean, I guess.

How dare someone hold the police chief accountable for crime in the city he manages.

How the hell does someone type that and not question themselves immediately?

Why would he go eat at that place knowing they hate him.
If anything just get a family member to get it to go. He really is stupid, just simple things like this.

His deescalation will be sending the health inspector there on a mission

The only way this story could’ve been better was if Paul was asked to leave instead of Ciccone.

If the restaurant was in the city limits that would have been a terrible idea because the police chief (and mayor) are petty, and they would look for anything they could do to shut that restaurant down.

Blah. Confronting people while they're out trying to enjoy dinner is stupid.

I'm not a resident of EBR but if Broome is the mayor/president of the whole parish, would Murphy Paul have any authority parish wide like the mayor?

Disclaimer: I don't know how all this works

That makes no sense. Chief Paul wasn't asked to leave. The other guy was kicked out.

No. He (Paul) would only be over the incorporated parts of the city (within city limits) The Sheriff is over the parish. The Sheriff’s office offers some services to the city, but patrol wise they patrol outside the city limits.
