Do you just close your eyes when there is a post showing statistics that do not back your argument? Why don't you address those?
Posted on 7/11/16 at 8:49 am to Jack Bauers HnK
There are problems on both sides.

So we should never question the people with authority?

Or are they always right in yalls mind?

Such clarity, so easy to understand

Minority's races are involved in more crimes. I'll admit that, that's a fact. Should minority's be treated differently or equal?

You have no idea how ignorant you sound.

You can absolutely do this. It's called the court system. Time and place for everything. Not the time to question authority when they feel you are a danger to them or the general public.

That's totally irrelevant but you simpletons keep trotting it out. The ugly truth is this: Blacks, particularly young black males, are many times more likely to die at the hands of police than their white counterparts. Any contact at all with law enforcement is a crap shoot for even the most upstanding black citizen, even those who have been coached in how to survive it.

What are you even promoting with this line of questioning? If you think the police are wrong, you're going to resist or run to show them you're right? Or carry an illegal weapon just in case?( a reach I know) But How is that even a viable thought process? The police represent the law, period. Comply and go home, it's not that hard.
And stop complaining about 6 months of training. Get up, strap your boots on, and go get your training if you think you can do better. But you can't, and you won't.

They should be treated equally and there's no evidence that they aren't. If a white man was being arrested while illegally carrying a concealed gun and resisted arrest while reaching for the gun, I would expect him to be shot just as dead as Alton Stearling was shot.
If you have a small percentage of the population that commits a majority of the crime in this country then you would expect that that portion of the population would suffer the greatest number of deaths by police officers being that they appear to interact with police on a much higher rate. Yet, that's not the case.

quote:You don't seem to understand that when you resist the authority of the police, they will use force. And when Alton Sterling resisted, he got the force of the police. Was that force excessive? Absolutely. He should not have died that day. But did the police need to use force on him because of his actions? Absolutely.
Minority's races are involved in more crimes. I'll admit that, that's a fact. Should minority's be treated differently or equal?
Alton Sterling did not get what he deserved. He deserved to be tackled and subdued, however. It really looks bad on those officers that they (or one of them) used such excessive force.
Posted on 7/11/16 at 8:58 am to EazyBreesy
So even though you admit minority races commit more crimes, when it is pointed out that more whites are killed by cops... You go straight to the "there are more whites than blacks" argument. How does that even make sense? If minority races are committing more crimes, then they are having more interaction with cops and thus should proportionately be killed at a higher rate than whites. Yet this is not what the facts show. So...

You really to go frick yourself with that comment.
If that were true there would be thousands upon thousands of black deaths per year at the hands of police. It is simply a false statement.

All people should be treated fairly
If a person gives off a vibe of compliance /calm, the situation will go smoothly
If a person resists and is combative, the situation will go poorly
The LEO is only human. Despite training, it is hard not to match force with escalating force.
I have a very large physical build. I make a concerted effort to lower my voice and assume passive postures when dealing with LEOs. Once again, it circles back to situational awareness and making good decisions...
