Bringing a laptop to a courthouse?

I know know trashy thread, but I am trying to sit in on a court case tomorrow at the Thomas Donelon Courthouse on the westbank, and was wondering if laptops are allowed in the building. Everytime I have been to a courthouse I have stored all electronics in my car but I would really like to get some work done on my computer while waiting. I'm also not an attorney, and the courthouse will not answer my calls for request so any help is appreciated.

Put it in a briefcase and they'll think you're there for official business or something. That's your best bet

You can bring it in. Whether a judge lets you sit in his courtroom on it and whether there is a decent enough wifi signal to accomplish anything is a different matter.
I had jury duty recently. Brought my laptop. Security guys did not bat an eye and did not know I was there for jury duty.

Terrible advice since there is a 99% chance there will be a metal detector and the signs usually state you cannot bring any electronics into the court room. Good way to spend the night in jail for contempt.

I've been in a lot of courtrooms over the years. Most attorneys stick to one building. Half of the ones I've been in DGAF if you bring your phone in. All of them care if your phone is making noise or you answer it. I haven't ever seen someone get criminally charged for having an electronic device. I'll take your 99%, and say there's a 99.9999% chance you won't get charged for having a laptop in a courtroom

Jefferson parish courthouse is very pretentious. Metal detectors at every door. Even attorneys have to remove belts and empty pockets. You won't be able to take a computer into a courtroom. However there are other things in that building besides courtrooms, so they might allow it in the building.

The court room is going to have a good laugh when the judge looks over and sees you typing on your laptop.
