A lot of times, family members will meet out to eat and share a piece of cake. Avoid having to clean up your home, and convenient for everyone. I don't see what the big deal is. Is there anything wrong with doing that at a house and cooking? No. Is there anything wrong eating out and doing it at a place of business instead? Not at all. Let somebody else clean up after you. That's really kind of the point of eating out anyway.

Hate cake. Always have. I hate most desserts. I can do creme brulee, a cinnamon roll, and a light fluffy donut. Otherwise.. no thanks.
Hate ice cream too. Seeing people's reactions to Blue Bell returning to stores floored me. I didn't know people cared that much about frozen milk

Like I said, from a server perspective, nothing wrong with it.
From a personal standpoint, you ain't gonna see me doing it. There are a lot of things I don't mind others doing that I'm not going to do for my own personal reasoning/preference. Same reason I tip 30%-40% personally, but I think 15%-20% is perfectly reasonable as far as other people go.

That is crazy. My family laughs at me because I don't care for sweets and I can probably count the number of times I've had cake in my lifetime... but if I do have something sweet, it's either a hot cinnamon roll or a light donut.

Yep
Cinnamon is much easier than sugary-sweet foods. Cake is usually way too rich for me. A cinnamon roll is just a sweetened and spiced piece of bread, whereas cake is rich and sweet throughout. Makes my head rush when I eat cake.
It is always a huge thing begging my mom not to make dessert for my birthday, her doing it anyway, and then he getting mad that she doesn't want to take leftovers back home and wants to leave it with me. I tell her she can leave it with me, but it will just sit on the counter for a week and then be trashed.

Who does this?
We did last weekend. Went to brunch and brought a King Cake for birthday cake. Not a big deal.

King Cake
I have 1 piece per year and it's always Randazzos... because it's a cinnamon roll with icing disguised as king cake.

Here's Why You Should Never Bring Your Own Cake To A Restaurant
...because they might be ugly and then the restaurant will post a picture of it on their private instagram account?
The horror.
The horror.

shaking my head at the shite that bothers people and how they come here to share it for affirmation.
Y'all motherfrickers bothered by shite like this need some real adversity in your lives and maybe gain a little perspective.
LL, I don't like cake either. UNLESS.. it's white/yellow/chocolate cake mixed and mashed up in vanilla icecream.

If the restaurants would allow you to order one, that would be one thing. But they don't and people want to have something other than tarimasu or cheesecake.

I don't understand why this should be a big deal. It's not like the restaurant can produce a birthday cake upon demand
