Sometime around 2006 I was in college (7 years older than everyone else due to my time in the Navy). I had just parked my car at the bar and some other student, maybe 19 or so, ran up and asked if he could borrow my jack to change a flat. I look back across the lot and sure enough there’s some Honda looking vehicle with a flat and the donut lying on the ground.
“Sure, have at it” and give him the scissor jack from my car at the time, and I hang out in my car and pick up a text book for a bit.
10 minutes later he’s not back yet, and I go to check on him - he’s trying to pump the scissor jack like it’s a ratchet or hydraulic style floor jack—frustrated as all hell because the thing isn’t moving.
