No it’s in the budget. You just didn’t plan for it I saw the thread where you talked about your food budget it’s just funny seeing the double standard. We all hate trashy people until it comes to our military dammit

If you're not the groom or at least a member of the wedding party, showing up to the wedding your military dress blues reeks of attention whoring and it's likely it's just that.

Bride made the right call here.

So from what I have gathered reading the replies to this thread, it seems that the tradition of military men being expected to wear their dress uniform to formal occasions it’s now is seen as a negative thing and “attention whoring”.

What caused this societal shift?

There are some trashy things about people in the military. Wearing a good looking uniform isn’t one of them. Literally no one looks at a Marine in his dress blues and thinks “Eww trashy.”

I'd bet a thousand bucks that I don't have that she bitched about some of the outfits women wore too.

It's pretty low rent that she kicked the guy out.

But it is their day, and these folks did establish a dress code which the Marine chose to ignore.

I know this is anecdotal evidence but my father and grandfather are both buried at Arlington and I’ve never seen it. And never saw it from their countless friends

I agree with this. I just wouldn't have attended if I had to wear my class a's.

I thought it was black tie optional. How did he ignore that?

I'd say non combat veterans attention whoring.

The guys I know that deployed like crazy don't talk about it much. People who spent their time stateside for a few years then got out lap it up when they have a chance to be thanked for their service.

I guess I can see your point. I’m a combat vet myself, nothing special, just an old tanker from the First Gulf War. It it’s never really bothered me. Still, I see what you’re saying.

Kinda weird of him to wear it but wayyyy worse for her to ask him to leave.

Absolutely. Any woman that would get that worked up on over something so insignificant on what is supposed to be one of the best and happiest days of her life and is willing to inject completely negative and awkward feelings for everyone will be a total bitch to live with. Life of misery just beginning.
