hell, the kid probably asked his parents if they thought it was OK, sounds like they were there, what do you think they the parents would say? of course he should, they're proud as hell of him, that's what I would have told my kid, if it was my wedding and the kid asked me I would say the same, especially if he was about to be deployed
Mommy and Daddy showing off their kid isn't the best idea for a wedding either.
The outcome of this story probably would be a lot different had he asked. The bride might have been cool with it if it wasn't sprung on her. I hate using trigger, but this most likely was the last thing needed to trigger her into psycho mode. If she had known about it before hand, it may have not made any impact on her at all during the wedding and she wouldn't of even noticed it.

The fact that you are unwilling to look at it from another point of view shows you don't understand common courtesy.
Not true, I’ve already stated that it’s douchey for him to do and the USMC isn’t short on douchebags. However, she didn’t specify no military dress uniforms so she has to deal with the consequences.
She made a non-issue an issue and harmed friendships by acting as she did. Not the guy.

So he wasn’t in the wrong. Because guess what, black tie optional falls under “formal or semiformal social function”
He didn't break any military rules, sure, but black tie optional is a civilian request, and it's pretty straight forward.

I just like all of the abbreviations and acronyms.

That would be an awkward thing to put on an invite. It's just common courtesy to check with the couple if you're going to push the limits of a dress code.
However, she's obviously a much bigger bitch in all of this.

sure, but go pick a pair of fatigues from a surplus store so no one will be suspicious, go easy on the medals though

Exactly. I literally put my hand in my face when I read that response about it being the grooms day too. That is just an ignorant stupid thought.
You’re right, it’s not the groom’s day. It’s THEIR wedding day. The day that THEY become one. She all but certainly will be a nightmare to be wedded to and I feel for the groom but he could’ve put an end to this as well by not allowing his new wife to act like a psychopath. She’s probably walked all over him their entire courtship.

If it is douchey, then that means there is a lack of courtesy and we agree.
We don't know anything more than she is thinking about it and wanting people's opinions on it. She was the one that posted about it on reddit. Women focus on these things and looking for validation. My wife still complains about certain things that were left by the altar and not hidden. It's not in most of the photos, but is visible in the video. We are the only ones that care about the video, yet she still focuses on it for some reason and we don't even watch the video.

That is so wrong. Its her wedding dumb shite. If I don’t like what you are wearing, I’ll tell you to leave. And thats what she did.

So this all seemed to have been born out of a Reddit post, roughly 50% chance none of this ever happened.

Wait. Does that mean I don't get to hit retards with a bar of soap in a sock anymore?

Are you aware that dress blues act as substitutes for formal or semi formal attire? He does not need her permission.
She comes out looking like the bad person in this, not him.

Relax, RELAX! That is still possible. Just be aware that the Arky crowd hasn't seen soap too often and may be allergic.

It does seem weird to show up in a military uniform to a regular wedding. Nothing against military but that’s a bit much unless it’s military folks getting married who want that.
The wedding was Black-tie optional. Full Dress military uniforms are in the category of black-tie. She is an ignorant, insecure biotch hopefully the groom ran away fast.
