Man it’s getting even better when other vets call out our local war hero’s.

Darth, stop acting like youre some old WWII or Vietnam vet.
You’re in your 40’s. You played in the sand in Desert Storm.
You’re being a douche right now.
Stop trying to be an internet dickhole. I’m asking legit question to try and understand how things have changed. Until I saw this this story and the replies to this thread I didn’t know wearing a dress uniform was frowned upon.

Commander of 4th Marine Division was in his evening dress as well as numerous officers during Rex Ball this year and many years previous. Tradition is that military wear their formal wear to formal events. Everyone posting otherwise has no historical knowledge of the tradition.

No you’re not. You’re acting stupid like OweO does for attention.

Would you prefer your tax dollars going towards the military telling people they should care more about the bride and groom when they go to weddings?
You're not being asked to care about them, but you will respect their wishes, reasonable or not.
If you wear your dress uniform to some bitches wedding and are asked to leave because of it, you're going to do it. I doubt you stand your ground reciting uniform code.

the bride was a bitch no one disputes that
I actually defend the Marine wearing what was probably hsi most formal outfit
you are epitomizing the perception that SOME that have served take advantage of every opportunity to seek the attention of serving by making it about them

No. I was sitting in the gunner’s seat of my tank. My entire view of the whole shooting war looked like this....
With the exception being when we’d stop for fuel, food, ammo and to piss.

Now help me understand what makes you think wearing a uniform means someone is trying to draw attention to themselves.
Because you’re walking around with a sign that says “I’m in the military”. You’re wearing an outfit that is going to be different than everyone else intentionally, which is pretty much the definition of drawing attention to yourself. If a guest showed up in a light blue suit I’d think he was a douche too.

Just fricking tell me - did the dude wear a dress or is this some sort of fricking transgender wedding? What’s the deal??

I do my best to keep you frickers entertained.
