I'm not either. I was always told that hand sanitizer doesn't work on viruses.

All I hear is elevator music
And a slide on the screen that says "Are Our Hospitals Prepared for an Ebola Pandemic"
Answer: No
Guess this will be a short conference call

So am I the only one who is remembering the assurances of how a widespread outbreak would never happen here because of our stringent protocols and superior approach to medicine...and therefore it was ok to bring those infected people here?
Whoops.
I blame Bush.

"Please continue to standby"
I feel like I'm on hold with Cox
"we appreciate your business...please continue to hold and an operator will be with you shortly"

Well that is one method of transmission.

Three people have caught the virus and one is dead. That's not what I would call a pandemic in America.

Who did we bring here that has transmitted it to others?

Hand sanitizer and soap are both good for "combating" viruses, though.
I bet they used more than hand sanitizer and soap at Texas Pres.
That's all I'm saying.

Yeah, ideally, in dealing with a known and symptomatic dying ebola patient. For me dealing with Joe and Tom in suburban Atlanta, I think handwashing and hand sanitizer is a reasonable line of defense at this point.
If Joe is bleeding from the eyes I may rethink my preparations.

Outdoor Clorox and JoMax! Wait a minute... that's to wash the siding...

No one yet...but the point being that apparently our protocols are not as great as we thought and we are susceptible, because a guy getting treated here by "our" people somehow infected a minimum of two others. And now those two have been in contact with hundreds of others, whom they may have infected.
Basically, don't take any chances.

Won't Lysol will kill it? It'll kill the common cold virus... Technically, Ebola's "just" another virus, isn't it? Only more deadly.

Uh - it's thousands now - Vinson went through the DFW and CLE airports - twice, plus flew at least 2 legs in commercial aircraft. She used bathrooms, etc. There are thousands of potential exposures just from her alone.

Basically this nurse group is sending letters to the president to set up national standards that all hospitals have to go by
This is about protecting the nurses and other medical personnel really.

If this broad was actually involved in the direct care of Duncan, and then got on a plane - symptomatic, or not - she's too stupid to live.
