Sorry. I don’t believe anything the FBI says or does. Not sure why anyone does.

I believe them when they say they are looking into something. And their field agents are pretty solid.

But you are right, they are not trustworthy as an organization.

Seems like they should have figured it out before it started. I guess I overestimated the FBI and CIA. Unless it was looked over on purpose.

My guess is it was an honest overreaction to whoever opened the garage first and reported it. I don't think it was a publicity stunt. Nascar wouldn't have wanted to bring that type of unnecessary attention on their sport.

My other guess is Nascar DID want to bring that kind of unnecessary attention to their sport and seized a perfect opportunity to do it to raise some sort of awareness or just get Nascar in the news in some fashion so people would watch.

Like to draw attention to the fact that they are holding races? That’s not a bad idea.

pallets of bricks

So I’ve been wondering about this. If they moved the entire pallet at once, some type of forklift or other equipment would be needed. If done by hand (brick by brick), it would take a fair amount of time. Either way, these pallets were strategically placed in areas heavily populated by businesses. None of this activity was caught on one of the businesses security cameras? Hell, in recent times, crimes have been solved by someone’s home security system catching the perp on camera. Yet, there is absolutely zero leads on this? smdh

I have no doubt foreign nations interfere. They have been doing it for a long time

But I am NOT ok with people trying to minimize or delegitimize genuine movements and views in America because a foreign nation happens to be “pushing it”.

It goes against our democratic ideals to just ignore people’s wishes and viewpoints.

This goes for populism, concern about racial stuff and police brutality, etc.

Just because Russia or China might be “encouraging it”, doesn’t mean it isn’t an organic, sincere cry for change from our citizens

You got downvoted pretty heavily but there is a very salient message here. If a foreign actor is able to delegitimize a legitimate idea/movement of the American people by fanning the flames or adding fuel then we have lost something that makes America America.

If you go back to the initial discussions on tOT regarding Floyd it is clear there is a legitimate grass roots* call for police reform. If we turn a blind eye to this because certain elements, foreign or domestic, attempt to radicalize the sides then we as a country are worse off.

* I don't think Chinese, Russian or other state actors are capable of infiltrating the core of tOT...yet. There may be some "people" here that are from the "outside" but they would be more or less mono-topic NPC types. Despite people getting labeled this they normally discuss a wide variety of topics, enough to make it clear they are not a Chinese infiltrator. Well unless they are arguing seasoning crawfish post-boil is proper.

Do not underestimate foreign organizations' ability to infiltrate, subvert and destroy internet forums. There are paid shills wandering the internet right now whose only job is to sow dissent in all corners and they will by any means necessary.

I don't know in what capacity they are here, but, TD is large enough to gain their attention certainly; they are here.

I don't underestimate them at all. However, the ability to blend into a forum like this is fairly difficult. Now as a new member and or drive-by poster it is possible but most don't pay them any mind anyway. While it is possible for a Chinese operative to talk about the best pizza in BR, what it is like to be a plant baw or where the fish are biting on Maurepas the juice isn't worth the squeeze. TD has a fair amount of skepticism where FB and Twitter has a much better chance to start something like the "type any three digit number + cases into Google" and cause a stir.

TD is more regional. It’s harder to fake. But it can happen.
