How much did you pay for your kids' braces in Baton Rouge?

About to embark on this endeavor for my oldest child (right before school ends).
I've heard prices can be anywhere from $3K to $5K.
Not sure how accurate these prices are or how it can or will vary.
EDIT ...
We're looking to go to Hollis Orthodontics.

Was just quoted $5800. Seems high

From Hollis? Or another orthodontist?
How much will your insurance cover?

I got myself braces. Went through LSU school of dentistry in Nola. $3250 flat rate for any work you need done and however long they need to do work for. Will be the same price if it takes you two or ten years.
ETA: Did so because I had no orthopedic insurance.

Sherman and Balhoff. Not sure what insurance will do yet.

My wife tells me that $5800 was after our dental insurance. So in other words, it was $6800 if no insurance. Oh my aching balls.

My classmate Dr Michael Hiller is amazing

I used misuraca about 4 years ago for my own personal braces. It was right around 4200 for 24 months of treatment. That was with an Insurance "discount"

This is our second choice if in the event we cannot see Hollis.

That's who I've used for both my kids. Older daughter had minimal work needed, ran about $3000. Younger daughter was all jacked up, needed extractions and palate work before braces could even go on. She's ongoing, cost is $5400 I believe.
I will say that they did a great job on my first kid, and the difference on the second is night and day already. It's expensive but we're very pleased with their work

Dr. Rick Martin did mine in my 30's. He is a cool guy and the price is reasonable. It was a while ago but if I recall it was between $3-4k.
Obviously mostly kids/teens are being treated in his practice.
I showed up 14 years later and needed some epoxy patch on my permanent lower retainer and he fixed me up with no appointment on a walk in with no charge.
Stand up guy.

Got adult Invisalign and a palatal expander from Sherman and Balhoff for just under $8,000. Do your kids a favor and get braces while they're young.
