It could be a hell of a bargain for all I know. The location and configuration just gives me claustrophobia. It would be like living in an apartment. For $400K you could build on a few acres in some outlying town, and by outlying I don't mean a subdvision in Prairieville.

And then commute 45 min each way? No thanks, give me a smaller yard and a 15min commute.

This is BR. Unless your office is across the street, you'll be sitting in traffic at least 30 minutes most days regardless

It's a deal breaker for me. Wouldn't even buy in a neighborhood where I rode around and saw nothing but garage doors

I agree but it's the most efficient way to jam more homes onto less property. More homes = less per sq/ft.

I don't understand why y'all care about where people choose to live. Obviously, there is a market for those houses otherwise people wouldn't be building in those neighborhoods. I grew up on 3 acres and yes it was nice at times, but it was a huge headache at others. I now live in a zero lot line neighborhood and happen to love it. It's really nice being able to mow your lawn in 15 minutes. There is plenty of green space and parks for my kids to run around on if they want. I have 3 stocked fishing ponds within a 2 minute walk from my house, and if one day I decide to get a boat, I happen to have a place to store it. It also doesn't hurt that 1 1/2 years after building my house it has appreciated by nearly 60k.

$400k will buy you a lot of home in Mississippi.

Out of curiosity, I looked on Zillow for homes in University Park under $400k - none. Some terrible looking condo properties, and only 4 of those.

True

It's against HOA rules to have a garage facing the street in the neighborhood I just bought a lot in

That sold me
