I don't even know where City Hall is, Juan.
Next door to the downtown library.

why do you hate poor people and think they're incapable of improving themselves on their own?

Again, that means nothing to me. Charities will help fill the void in any case.
And you would take your tax savings that you do not want going to the community and instead give it to charities so that they can provide the services that you do not want to pay through taxes?

Based on this thread, I have trouble believing you are not already a card-carrying democrat.
I've been a Republican my entire life and I hate wasteful spending of tax dollars. But I don't see libraries and parks as a waste.
If the BR Libraries can find a cheaper temporary home for the downtown library that allows public access as needed, then they should go with the cheaper option. I was against the building of a huge main branch downtown, because Goodwood is more centrally located and has much easier access and parking. But we do need a library downtown. If not in the present location, then somewhere close or a major expansion of Carver.

Yes, it is.
Renamed from the Governmental Building to City Hall.

I don't hate you. I have full confidence in you.

You really show how you are not a republican. Do you have any idea of the difference between the government and charities? One is voluntary and the other is not. I don't want to give to the library, but the government forces me to. If it was a private business or run by a charity, only those wishing to use it or to donate to it would do so. I can't believe I have to actually explain this to a self-professed "republican."

I really hope someone other than Delgado and Broome emerges as a viable candidate.

Funny. I had the exact same reaction about his bar 1913

You just want to assume that if there is a need then someone else will take care of the situation. That sounds more Democrat than Republican to me.

If there is a need, I just believe it is that person's responsibility to take care of their own need. If charities want to help, great. But don't force me to help at the end of a gun via taxes. I have no responsibility whatsoever for that other person and should not be forced to subsidize them in any way.

Do they still send potential jury members to wait in the library? If so, most of those patrons would have never set foot in the library if not for being called for jury duty, should tax money be spent on a waiting room annex for the court house?

Everyone in here realizes you do vote for the library taxes, right?

What an asshat. 250 sounds like a ballpark accurate number to me based on my experience. Now, that doesn't mean there aren't people who are coming everyday or multiple times a month who are driving up the number.
