Send him to Catholic if he isn't a nerd (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Congratulations.

Now you can start saving up for tuition to Harvard or Stanford.

I graduated from BRMHS in the mid-80's and many of my classmates went to top-tier schools. Fortunately they also had plenty of scholarship money - merit-based, not need-based.

The biggest bonus is that when all your classmates are bright, it really stimulates you to not slack off. A bright student in with a less-bright crowd will tend to do that.

Yeah what is going on with CLA? I drove past it the other day and it had changed names.

To the OP, I actually went to CLA from k-8 and BRHS from 9-12. It was a good choice for me to transfer.

I believe it's called "The Church Academy of Baton Rouge" now.

He will be exposed to a hefty dose of cultural Marxism at BRHS. Is he a "fricking white male"?

CLA was on the cusp of having to shut down this year due to declining enrollment over the last few years. The founder of the school brought in The Church of St. Amant to save this from happening. The change has been subtle but gradual and by next school year it will be a completely different school. My oldest son graduated from CLA in 2011 and my youngest has gone there since pre-k. It really was a good school but has gradually declined over the last few years after firing the long time headmaster a couple of years ago. That is when the decline in enrollment started.

He's not getting into Baton Rouge High. The feeder school for Baton Rouge High is the academic middle schools. I moved my son out of private school into the academic middle school so he would have a shot at Baton Rouge High. They only allow 1% of kids not from the magnet program into Baton Rouge High and that likely is a couple of gifted students that didn't go that magnet school route.

BR high is LOADED with 8th graders from CLA and Episcopal. That is a FACT. You have no idea what you are talking about. My next door f'ing neighbor is one of them.

you are making a mistake. sibling got into BRMHS and i tore up the letter.

it wont be typical HS experience. barely any sports, mix of weird nerdy kids and ghetto kids. multiple kids have been arrested. no homecoming, cheerleaders, marching band, baseball, football, basketball or hot girls.

I would rather go to Catholic, CLA, runnels, U high or episcopal. Id want to get fricked up and bang bitches.

Thanks PSG. Based on your info, I may have to find another school for him to go to.
