Sorry, on my cell. We got a direct hit, watched 130 mph winds. Unreal. House was fine, neighborhood was submerged for a month, no power for 12 days. It was hard on my St. Louis bf. Never been through a hurricane. I feel the same abt ice storms.

I was gonna tell you that it wasn't worth coming because after SWB got elected she kicked all of us off of our farms and there wasn't much down here left but it looks like you saw for yourself already

Lived off Longfellow back in the 60’s and remember Delmont Village and the gogo club (loved the ladies giving me candy before going in to preform) on Plank and Hollywood across from Krispy Kreme donuts. My grandmother lived by the go go place and when I would play in her yard in see the ladies going in I yelled gogo gogo and they gave me candy. One lady I said hey baby and gave her a thumbs up. She gave me a matchbox car ones in the real box the next day. My mom and grandmother found out and that ruined my fun with the ladies. I went to Hollywood Elementary back in the day and we would stop at Holden’s Grocery store to get a coke in the glass bottles.
Back in the day it was a growing area McCloud’s on the airline selling appliances, wolco, Kroger, Burger Chef, K&B, Delmont Village, GoGo place loved the ladies even at a young age, and Howard Brothers. It was a great area to grow up.
Now that area looks like a third world country now.

My mom and her 4 sisters and myself and all 3 of my siblings were christened in that church as well. 
I can remember as a kid in the 80s...the annual St Gerard fair and how much fun it was for a kid.

What year did the movie theater next by K&B open? I can remember walking there as a kid from my house on Beechwood to go see ET with my mom.

It was open in 1966.
That area of Plank Road was rural in the 60’s and then all of a sudden boomed in the 70’s.
We even had a black bear come into the neighborhood when I was five and break into the neighbors shed to get his honey he bottled from his bee hives.

We used to walk from the YMCA on Hollywood to the Robert E. Lee and McDonald's. I remember going to see Ernest Goes to Camp there.

We use to ride our bikes to Delmont Village from Longfellow Drive. Once you crossed Hollywood Drive and they moved those old homes it was like riding bikes in the country. It was a nice working class area back in the 60’s and 70’s.

Was that the Robert E. Lee Theater? I know I was watching movies there as early as 1972.

I was born in 75 and grew up in Central but remember that area well.
