On a more serious note though, why are they so against it? The only thing I could think is happy hour would move more people to bars instead of restaurants.

Because people still go out in droves to drink. Happy hour wouldn’t really increase the amount of people coming in but it sure would decrease profits.

That's a shame. Spent some time in the Berkshires a couple years ago, and several days in Boston multiple times. I love it there.

Overall, a great place to live. But like everywhere, there are pros and cons. This just happens to be the biggest con, in my opinion.
But I’m fine paying a little more for my beer if it means I get to enjoy the positives.
