I am a 20 year teacher and frick that noise. What the hell are those teachers thinking? I am glad the voters didn’t pass that ridiculously high tax. Every teacher knew what their salary was going into this profession and to hold the parents and students hostage is such bullshite. The voters have spoken and now you want to take your ball and go home because you don’t like the way the game is played. Stuff like this is one of the primary reasons I despise most teachers’ unions.

Lol at all the poors downvoting. Y’all talking about fricking pennies. 2.6M a year? You pay it and live in a better area because of it. You always invest in education and infrastructure, or you live in a shithole and complain about how bad things have gotten.

I see this if bossier would be fiscally responsible line used. BPSB has a budget approx 300M. 89% goes to salary or approx 267M. They asked for 21M. Do the math they would have to cut 75% of all other operating costs to annually make up the 21M. Thats just not gonna happen.

20 years ago a bag of chips was $1.25 and not $5.75 and trucks were 16K and not 65K.

Playin' that AC/DC in class, very cool. Then again maybe you are a math teacher, I just hope you don't teach English or sparktricity.

I kid.

While higher property taxes don't always mean better educations for the little baws and bawettes low school/teacher funding almost always means lower quality educations.

Education is one of the main institutions that make for a quality society but too often it gets pushed to the back burner, hiring and retention of good teachers is one of the most important keys to quality education.

Texas is only a 30 min commute from Bossier City. I would work there if I was a teacher living in Bossier/Shreveport

Ughh Hello! But, it's easier to just complain and bitch about it. Its easier to try to force others to pay your way. It's the liberal socialist mentality of most teachers. How dare you say I'm responsible for myself! How dare you!!

I just find it so fricking funny that the professions with majority women in the field also are the ones that bitch and complain the most and the loudest.

Well that is the problem. I paid/pay for it and never used it because I sent my kids to private school (K-12).

Yes and you wrote much of that off, or at least I hope you were advised properly.
