What does that mean to you? Every Christian Church from Baptist to Catholic has outreach programs...our big one is upward Sports with the community. Is this “aggressive” to you?!?

How often do atheists knock on your door to talk about and spread their beliefs?

As a Christian I disagree. Plus there are so many different denominations out there, there’d be Christians who wouldn’t want their kids learning about denominations different than there own.

I’m very calm..I love how you paint Christians with a broad brush though.

I'm not. I just said that Baptists tend to be a bit more aggressive/evangelical with their beliefs.
If that is a "broad brush" by your standards, then so be it.

They don’t but by gawd...they sure raise a stink around Christmas.

Christianity doesn't own ethics or morality. you can teach those things without the fairy tales.

Now who is painting with broad brushes

seems to me that Atheists are more aggressive these days about pushing their agenda on everyone else.
i can't remember the last time an atheist knocked on my door to spread his disbelief, left a pamphlet on my windshield, or told me i needed to be saved from his imaginary enemy. Not wanting a public school teaching religion is not forcing a belief. If a teacher were teaching Islam in this school there would be uproar. The only reason that you do not see this as a problem is that they are teaching mythology that you happen to believe in. Not everybody is christian.

And AGAIN, how are “Baptists” (since you lump them all together) more “aggressive” or “preachy”?
Salmon....I bet the Girl Scouts are considered “aggressive” to you. Lol!

You South La haters don’t understand that public schools are in fact really good in some parts of state...unlike BTR and NOLA where the public side is complete trash.
yeah....not sure what you are getting at since the condition of schools in nola and btr have nothing to do with not indoctrinating Christianity on folks. It's a socioeconomic problem.

Not really. I mean you can but you have a much greater risk of having someone turn out as miserable as you.

they tend to want to preach to you more...thought I have already explained that

No they don't.
I'm no less a Christian and if I had children and raised them in the church they are no less a Christian if they are not taught it while they go to school. If I was a parent I wouldn't consider it a responsibility of a public school in the first place to teach my child religious beliefs. That should be my own responsibility as a parent. If having them taught that in school was that important to me...I would be sending them to a private Christian school.

If you don’t living in a country that is 70 % Christian then move to the Middle East.
What if you are Jewish? Or another religion that isn't Muslim?
Again...there is a proper time and place to profess your faith to others. Public school is not one of them.

i get it. not everybody can find meaning in life other than going to heaven. some people need that. I don't and I don't want my kids being told that they do by their teachers. If they decide they need it I will gladly bring them to church.

They do? Where?
Oh are you offended by the “aggressive preaching” on Sunday morning TV?!

If you want them to understand, you may want to dumb it down a little with your use of big words. They have only been around for 6000 years, so thier brains haven't evolved much.*
*i know I'll get downvotes cause they don't believe in evolution.
