If you don't think there is a war on Christianity in America today, I don't know what to tell you. It's everywhere.
People are, however, pushing back against practices of Christians to impose their religion on others. My whole family are very religious and Christian, most of my friends too. I'm all for them or anyone else practicing the religion of their choosing. You never read about anyone protesting the church or members of a church- because it isn't happening.
On the other hand, the South is starting to get push back on their antiquated methods of involving religion in things where it doesn't belong (schools). I understand how it seems like a "war" to you, because you've never known any other way, but as always it's really just trying to catch the South up with modern times.
For those stubborn and unwilling to change from the "way things have always been", they've had to create a straw man argument that "there's a war on our religion!!!". It's much easier to defend their religion in this fictitious war, than it is to defend a publicly funded school from pushing and teaching one religion.

He’s definitely right although it’s not confined to the south though. The war on Christians is by and large a fabrication and the result of a victim mentality, much like SJW's have. It’s great to feel oppressed, have an enemy so to speak, something to work against because that brings everyone together. And there are instances where yeah Christians are treated unfairly, but that’s the exception not the norm.

Christianity isn't a religion.

There are certainly parts of the world where being a Christian can make you a target. Where you can’t even openly practice your faith for fear of prosecution or death.
The United States is NOT one of these places.

So you won’t be upset in the least if a Muslim teacher at your child’s school requires all her students to read from learn the Koran everyday?
A muslim of Christian teacher requiring reading and learning from the koran or Bible isn't necessarily the same thing as "religion free" now is it?
There is a distinct difference between preventing teachers from indoctrinating kids, and preventing all prayer or any mention of God.

Good for them for respecting the constitution

And what do you think is happening if a teacher is requiring her students to pray in class like one of the examples in the OP?
Look I love the Lord with all my heart and know Jesus is my Savior.
I don’t believe students should be banned from quietly reading from their bible. Or not be allowed to wear items representing their religion. I think if students want to have their own Christian club during club time...fine. But a teacher is in a position of authority and power over the children she teaches. It is not his /her place to make students pray in a public school setting.
Why not just say “let’s have a moment of silence for prayer or reflection”?
Again....these responses in this thread would be sooo much different if these were other religions besides Christian denominations.
You want freedom of religion in school...but only if that is the Christian one.

So there you go. The Supreme Court has always upheld rulings and interpreted the first amendment to include separation of church and state.
Which is not at all unlike the other two branches of our government, which refuses to limit itself to Constitutional bounds. The federal government has absolutely no constitutional authority granted to it over schools, and what goes on there.
It seems none of the branches of government want to reference the Constitution to see if they have the authority to weigh in on any issue. Failure to do so, because it limits their power, is a perfect definition of tyranny.

I think it's against the law, regardless of the religion. It would be surprising to hear of it happening, were it not for the several cases lately of teachers requiring reading and learning about Islam. Either it's wrong, and against the law, or it isn't. I have no issue with preventing it, as long as it is required.
