They say a basketball size rock. No way.
Anyway, who knows if this was justified, but I don't envy them. They have very little resources to combat a very big problem, and what they do accomplish is frequently unwound by their superiors so they can face the same issue again tomorrow.

I assume you're saying the thrower could have been elevated, which makes sense. Nonetheless, I suspect this is like reports of "softball size hail" which does occur, but which is usually golf ball sized in reality.

"Migrants" also throw rocks at passing trucks on lease roads late at night in an attempt to make people crash so they can rob and kill them. Shattered my windshield once. .
