I’m sure you will reject their inheritance when they pass, and shake your head at them…

Another boomer oddity as of late is getting tricked into buying 1/4 size versions of shite off Amazon.

Furniture and household items mainly.

They’ll think it’s a full-sized item but somehow get tricked by the Ai photos of the item making it appear full size.

The obesity rate of the under 30 demographic is probably higher than the obesity rate of the over 60 demographic.
I can't imagine what these 20something Land Whales will look like when they are 60.

And FYI, eating Probiotic foods like Yogurt are good for an upset stomach.
Maybe you should be taking nutritional advice from her.

Boomers are still loyal to quality brands they grew up with even though those brands have been sold off long ago and produce Chinese garbage.

Appliances, tools, household items, clothing.

My parents are boomers and in their 70’s. I’m not going to try to get them to change their habits. God willing, I get to be that age someday. When I do, I’ll be damned if some 35 year old tries to tell me what’s best.

I am also fairly old. My post was directed at the OP who was surprised that his parents and in-laws don't understand things exactly like him.

My mother weighed 85 lbs. in her last days. Getting her to eat a few spoonfuls of ice cream felt like a victory.

Unless they were an outlier in a specific industry boomers were late adopters of technology generally.

You see this with smartphone adoption.

Early on Boomers looked at the iPhones like a kids toy.

Held on to their blackberries and Nokia brick phones until the very end.

Then when they were forced to adopt smartphones late it caused a real awkwardness which exists to this day.

The awkwardness of learning to swim or ride a bike as an adult.

A lot of folks overtaken by technology rather than simply
Put in the effort to keep up.

Boomers got Buggy whipped by technology.

Generally speaking of course.

Overweight elderly live longer than normal weight elderly. Obv. not talking morbidly obese, but a few extra pounds seems to have a protective effect.

I'm a boomer and I can remember that exercise for general health wasn't really a thing we did. We did calisthenics in P.E. class in high school, maybe ran a few laps, but unless you were on a sports team no one really exercised. In the late 70's jogging became popular, as well as home exercise VHS tapes for aerobics.

Despite the lack of what we now think of as "regular exercise" there were far fewer obese people back then. Probably because people ate less fast food and processed junk. And kids were outdoors playing instead of playing video games. People were less sedentary, in general.

My dad thinks I'm wierd for not liking and drinking milk everyday. I just never liked it. I can handle dairy well but if I eat it for every meal my stomach gets upset. Would rather save that for ice cream and cheese.

Most boomers walked more too. Walked everywhere for school, etc. Parents gave them free range. America was a little less suburban back then and even the suburbs had sidewalks in those days.

Cigarettes were the og boomer ozempic.

appetite suppressing nicotine kept a lot of boomers fit and trim well into the early 90s.

But even with all that smoking going on, boomers will complain if they walk down the strip in Vegas and smell weed.
