My source is a deputy in the WPSO, but you are correct the release shows no bail being set.

Doubt the Sheriff wants the mayor sitting in his jail for too long. High profile offender is a security nightmare.

already posted the $20,000 needed for his $200,000 bond.

I'm not an attorney or even remotely knowledgeable in these matters but $200,000 seems like a lot for the charges listed. I've seen violent offenders with long rap sheets have lower bonds.

The investigation also determined that profits from drug sales were used to purchase firearms. Some of these firearms were funneled to individuals
prohibited from legal possession, while others were linked to violent crimes in the Bogalusa area.

This should be a national story...

They were alerted when their monitoring devices for the paper mill smell were overpowered by the smell of a meth cook house.

Drug labs. Means they were manufacturing.

My best guess would be it had something to do with an audit for a grant. Bogalusa has a Brownfields EPA grant from DEQ. DEQ may have asked to look at financials or noticed something else and alerted the authorities.

I've texted my sister (no pics), who is retired from DEQ, about this.

DEQ is involved when these places get busted.
