frick that pilot. Why feel the need to take all of those people with you?

What happened to the copilot while this kamikaze pilot carried out his actions?

Weird from 30k feet there was clear wreckage. No such in PA

quote:I wonder if they'll ever release this info. The cockpit voice recorder would be helpful to reveal if the suicidal pilot somehow overpowered/incapacitated his copilot. In the case of Germanwings flight, I believe the copilot went to the restroom and the suicidal pilot locked him out, but I thought the aviation industry had corrected that problem by implementing new regulations requiring two people in the cockpit at all times.

One was near end of flight and other was at beginning so more fuel to fan the flames? Also maybe Mtn area meant different angles of impact? The crash in Ethiopia was pretty small pieces.

Scary bump/add on
On the one hand, yes it’s definitely scary to think this was intentional, but I’m also glad to know that the most common commercial airplane didn’t just drop out the sky because of a mechanical issue

well I guess that’s better since I am probably flying in one Thursday

I have a crippling fear of flying and this is exact scenario is something that's played out in my head. It's not the dying, it's the manner of dying. I just can't imagine my mind being able to handle a vertical nosedive for a minute and a half without just breaking. I'd either be dead or insane by the time we hit the ground

This is the policy for US major airlines. It's not an international policy. That's why the Germanwings event happened. Also, most flight decks have a crash ax mounted on the bulkhead so incapacitating the other pilot is plausible.

Come on dude. Probably 132 lives just expired and you want to post this silly crap.

I feel that someone should tell you that this crash occurred a while back and not in the last 24 hours. There is no “Probably” to it. They all died. But way to ride in on your Arab Charger and make a virtuous stand for dignity anyway.

Boeing
How terrifying. I can't fathom the horror of a plane wreck. Prayers sent to those people.
Oh and fricking Boeing... Worst stock I've ever owned. I can't afford to dump it. They need to get their shite together. This may not be their fault but jeez every plane crash seems to be their airliner. They are cursed.

Oh god, Finish your will before setting foot on a Boeing product. It’s not like millions of people a year arrive safely to their destinations on 737s. Boeing has their bean counting issues, but come on.

Information extracted from the plane's damaged flight-data recorder shows human input orders to the controls sent the plane into its deadly dive, according to the Journal, citing people familiar with the probe.
"The plane did what it was told to do by someone in the cockpit," the Journal quoted a person who is familiar with American officials' preliminary assessment as saying.
The plane's flight-data recorder and cockpit voice recorder were recovered from the crash and sent to the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) in Washington DC for analysis, Chinese state media earlier.
American officials involved in the investigation are focusing on the actions of a pilot, the Journal reported, adding that it is also possible that someone else on the plane could have broken into the cockpit and deliberately caused the crash.

Any truth to the rumors that Chinese spy Fang-Fang was on board that flight?

Oh for fricks sake…there are far more 737s flying all over the world than any other airliner. It’s a been a very reliable workhorse for decades. Post less
