Are you sure you can blame that on the Lake? Are there alternative explanations? Do you blame them for the rapid rise in drug use, and subsequent arrests, all over the agreater Baton Rouge area? How about the beggars and bums that are all over the city thanks in large part to the already referenced rise in drug abuse?

When they release some of these homeless people from the hospital they wander around on Essen. I heard of one about a month ago walking down the median in front of United Plaza in a hospital gown open to the back.

I saw one wander into Race Trac last month. Everone stared at the guy. Was essentially a zombie walking around in there, In socks and hospital gown.

Anyhoots I passed by yesterday and got this pic of the scene. It was actually on Summa about 100 feet east of Essen on sidewalk next to Bank. The amberlamps was leaving and cops seemed like it was not a crime scene(no tape nor detectives).

Let me put it this way. The day after they shut down the ER in North Baton Rouge, I saw a guy in a hospital gown sprinting down the center lane of Essen with his arse hanging out and two cops chasing him. That was the VERY FIRST day of OLOL as the charity hospital. In the ensuing weeks, the number of people wandering aimlessly and begging at the RaceTrac grew exponentially. Yeah, I am pretty confident blaming it on the Lake and their new clientele.
