My friends and I had some good times hanging out on that bridge, ripping & running on Quail Drive (when it was gravel) and the LSU farm when we were kids. The old wooden bridge was torn down in the early '80's and replaced with the current one.

We looked at a house in Pollard a few years back...beautiful white 2 story with all wood...directly across from what looked much like a squat house full of crack addicts.

I grew up in Pollard; my Dad's been living in the same house in that subdivision for 62 years this January. I don't take kindly to strangers dissin' my 'hood.

I don't believe you. What street? There are currently three houses for sale in Pollard with an average sale price of over $500K. One of them is the Rubin's house on Pollard Parkway, which was right next door to my friend's house and was built in the mid-70's. The other is a brand new house built on Hibiscus, which was where the Rivet's house was until it was razed for the new construction, and the other is the Seip's house on Clematis.

This is the Seip House on Clematis. Mr. Seip's father played on the 1908 National Championship team with Doc Fenton.

There are some houses that may look old but it’s not trap houses.
I’m looking in pollard as well.
I’m looking in pollard as well.

I grew up on South Columbine Street, and would love to move back to the area. Growing up, there really wasn't much past Pollard on Perkins Road until you got to Homewood Subdivision, and Pollard was actually out of the city limits until the late 1960's when it was moved from Glasgow Avenue to Dawson's Creek. My Dad's house (the house where I grew up) was the fifth house built in the entire subdivision, and the second house on South Columbine.

No, I think he was being sarcastic, but there are definitely a handful of houses in Pollard that you drive by and think "how the hell is this house that looks like it's been abandoned for 10 years, in such a nice neighborhood?"

Opened this thread just to see how long it took for that gif to be posted.

There are some where the owner's have died or been placed in homes and their kids simply let the house go to seed. Some of the houses are dated and need extensive renovations, and some simply need to be torn down and rebuilt. There are now two houses on the corner of Hibiscus and Pollard Parkway where for over fifty years there was one. The original owner built the house on two lots, but when the old folks died, their kids sold both lots for a pretty penny.
A lot of the kids I grew up with in Pollard have bought their parents house and moved in to the house where they were raised. It's a great neighborhood, but I doubt its as good as it was in the 60's and 70's when my friends and I ran the streets. We knew where every outdoor refrigerator with beer was located, and used to take full advantage of this knowledge. Ford's Pasture, the LSU Research Farm, and the surrounding woodlands offered a semi-rural refuge for us and also provided some decent squirrel and rabbit hunting, was a great spot for BMX, weekend camp outs, and

I cannot give you an exact address but I will be happy to tell you as much as I can, dicky:
White 2 story with all wood floors. Old. But fixed up well. 4 bedroom and 3.5 bath. 650K (which was too much for it) in 2016. We liked it...big fenced in yard. The house across the street looked like something from 1976. Yellow brick. Yellow shutters. Looked like absolute shite. Made us rethink the house entirely. Had a shity yard...looked like absolute shite shed house and it made Pollard look bad. Our real estate agent agreed. and I bet it is still there. I am sure of it.
That white house we looked at I am sure has been sold. It was about 3000 sqft. Had columns and dormers. Across street...looked like some house from Glen Oaks.
Just so you dont think I am making this BS up. If it bothers you so badly, do some research on houses for sale in 2016 or drive around the hood. But get over that Pollard might have a shitty house or 2. I apologize if you are HOA or if you just have a chub for where you grew up. All in all, Pollard is a good neighborhood. But thankfully, we found a better place. Not being snobby...just saying. I dont have dead and bloated bodies floating up into my driveway.
*looking at that 369k house you posted...nah. house we looked at was way bigger and badder.

That house is outdated and ugly. I hope no one spends that kind of money on a house that terrible.

Yea. That house was damaged back during Gustav I believe. The owner let it go to even mo worser shite with damaged roof and all.
We've seen that house in there too like WTF among all the nice older houses connected to newer filings.
It's most definitely an 'upscale' neighborhood if the definition is taken literally, as the home values are way over the Median Home Value in Baton Rouge.
