Board's thoughts on people who claim on street parking?

I see it all over, these people even have an official looking sign.

A couple of times a month I get asked not to park in front of people's houses.
If there is other parking close by, I'll move. Most times I just ignore them.
People get upset though. One time a guy said " your truck may not be there when you get back" I just replied " it's cool I know where you live"
Sorry city people curb parking is for everyone for up to two hours.

Had this issue in NOLA about a month ago. I laughed when I saw the sign. It never became an issue though and about a week later the sign was gone.

Spray paint over the "No" part of the sign.

Just tell them they only ticket/tow vehicles that are illegally parked. I tell people all the time that when they "think" they are good encroaching on my driveway.

That bothers me too. In the older times we would get a group of people and a ton of fried chicken and drinks and grab a spot after drinking and stay there until the parades started. Now people bring huge tarps and leave them there then they show up an hour before the parade and set-up. I hate that shite.
Also around that time people will block off huge parts of the road so their friends can park. Usually those people I won't mess with their claim. I know people who do.

As long as there is no meter you can park for free.
You are supposed to limit your parking to two hours unless you have a zoned resident permit.
I am not sure how well they enforce that rule, though i have seen the meter maids walking down residential streets with that chalk stick that marks the tires.
