With the whole string of socially charged events, I've found a lot of people engaging in defriending /blocking people they had none for years, especially because of their opposition on beliefs. It seems to be creating a divided between the well informed, the ignorant, the willfully ingnorant, and straight up hateful folks. How is the OT holding up with it? Are yall engaging in this behavior? IMO, it's pretty childish, And I find it amusing to see how (ill) informed and how (un)educated some people you have connections with are. It sheds a new light into the mental processes of some people. With that said, blocking people is childish to me, but I can see why some folks engage in it, especially if it's negative energy to them.

I was never one to consider everyone on a follow or friends list an "actual friend" or real live companion, but it has been interesting to see some folks true colors so to speak.

I'd block your posts if I could.

Ignorant dumbshit ranting and race baiting without ever providing useful information or facilitating anything close to meaningful discussion.

I haven't blocked anyone, but I have unfollowed a few, not unfriend. I've done this to people on both sides of the issues mainly for just being hateful.

It's greatly simplified if you don't waste your time with social media.

FYI, I was referring to socially charge issues outside race as well--domestic violence, gender/LBGT issues, marriage equality, civil rights, social justice reform, Muslim equality, immigration, etc

I was surprised at how few reactionary posts I had on my facebook feed the past 6 months. Most of the posts I saw (on both sides of the arguments) were pretty well thought out and measured.

But I do a purge once a year or so. If I have no interest in the person and l assume the feeling is mutual (which is always), I will unfriend them. I think this clears the riff-raff from my feed.

I don't make political posts on social media, and I ignore political posts made by others.
