To some it would. To others they may recognize that sometimes police have to cater to different people in different ways and he could learn from his mistakes to become a better cop. That's why opinions are like assholes and everyone has one.

Now let's look at it another way.
you are minding your own business. As the police pull up you are standing outside of your vehicle,
Police are going in assuming you armed. The rush you and next thing you know you, there you are... With a gun to your head and the police is yelling at you that he will blow your fricking head off.
How are you going to react? In that situation, you were doing nothing wrong. In those several seconds, you are going to think "what the hell is going on? What did I do?". If you or anyone else was in this situation, would you be okay with Salamoni being one of the policeman that comes out to that call?
It happened to me.
In my situation I was hanging out in my neighborhood on the street in front of the house with 5 of my friends the night before I left for the USAF.
Across the street from the neighborhood ONE LONE INDIVIDUAL attempted to rob at gun point a local well known BR restaurant during happy hour off Highland Rd. The individual was seen leaving the parking lot and walking towards our neighborhood.
The guy approached us and pulled the gun on us demanding the keys to one of our cars/trucks. While we argued with him the BR city police arrived 5 deep lights and sirens blaring!
He was standing opposite us. The 9-1-1 call was about ONE individual and he fit that description. The cops ran up on us as the perp threw the gun across the street. We were tackled to the ground and guns forcefully pressed against our heads and faces while we were being screamed and yelled at. We were cursed out, called every derogatory word for homosexual those roided up small penis cops could verbalize with spit. We were all treated to a knee in the rectum, then lower back and a boot on our neck and guns again pressed with significant force against our faces and heads. Told how we would have our heads blown off. And how we were going to get raped in prison.
Finally up, we explained calmly but with alarm on our faces, how the guy just attempted to carjack us! They asked where the gun was, found it and then the 8 LEOs proceeded to take turns asking the perp to stop resisting (after he was already cuffed and on his knees). While the other 2 (who were more calm) came and un-handcuffed us all and took our statements and got our IDs.
I didn't then, and still do not, think the 8 Neanderthals should have been LEOs ... AND I didn't then and still do not think the 2 calm ones who let it all happen should be LEOs either.

His biggest mistake was pulling the gun in the 1st place.....
I agree with this. Goddamn, but are you having comprehension problems?
My point is that anyone can call 911 and claim someone pulled a gun on them, even if that person didn't. Do you think the way Salamoni rolled up on the AS situation is the way that you roll up on someone in that situation? I am not trying to Monday morning QB. What happened, happened.
If you are on the streets living a risky lifestyle then you are putting yourself at risk. I can understand being ultra aggressive in that areas at that time of night, but what I am saying is that when it comes to technicalities. There was enough there to justify firing him. I am not saying he should or shouldn't have been fired, I am just saying.. If this was a different situation (where someone makes a false claim that someone has a gun and the police has to go out to the call), do you think it should be handled the way Salamoni did?
I am not judging the guy. He might have had his reasons for handling it the way he did. If this situation wasn't a huge story and all in the news, he probably wouldn't have been fired. Like everyone else, police don't bat 1.00. They are not going to do everything exactly as it is supposed to be done because they are not robots, but when it comes to firing someone... I don't care if you are a policeman or CFO. If someone at the top wants you fired, they can usually find a justifiable reason. The way Salamoni handled the situation (personally, I am not saying it was wrong. Procedures sometimes do not factor in the environment in which things are happening) there was enough there to justify his firing.
