Spend the extra money and get a Weber. 5 year warranty compared to 1 year warranty. It gets hotter than the Blackstone. Grease trap is in the front and larger than the Blackstone. Just an all round better product. Go read the reviews many of the Blackstone's stands are rusted in the box. I have cooked backed gator, fish and chicken on mine. Smash burgers, omelets, pan cakes , stir fry, steaks etc. The list is endless rarely cook on anything else these days. The clean up is all of about 1-2 min if done right after cooking.

Tailgating is serious bidness, baw!

I admittedly don't clean mine right afterwards. I'm usually running back inside with the food and grabbing something out of the oven as well. I'll turn it off, eat dinner/breakfast, and go back outside in an hour and fire it back up. Let it run wide open for about 3-5 minutes, scrape it, hit it with some water and scrape it again. Once all the moisture has sizzled off, hit it with some oil and spread it really thin and kill the heat. Mine is the little 17 inch tailgater version with a side burner. The griddle area has a hinged lid. Never had a rust issue.
The only gripes I have is I wish I had bought the 28 inch with a cover, but my wife was ordering it for my Christmas present and they were hard to find in stock, so she got what she could find at the time. And the grease trap is finicky. I use the foil inserts but even the Blackstone branded ones don't go in easily. Still easier to toss than deal with washing it often. I just let it get about half full and toss it, and throw the grease trap in the dishwasher.

It has never gotten searing hot enough for me. It's fine for certain foods but never has really gotten a hard sear on things.
Have you ever taken a look underneath when it's lit? That's really odd for a Blackstone.

No but I'm going to bust it out again in the fall. Not griling out in the 100 degree heat.
I never ran a temp check on it, but no way it got above like 350. It was fine for veggies and shrimp and chicken, but when I wanted to do a steak or burgers or sear pork chops, I just have gone inside to the cast iron.

That's what puts me off. I'd want to try one out at a friends house before buying. Both my wife and I have plenty of time behind a flat top in our restaurant days, I feel like I'd be disappointed by the consumer-grade flat tops out there. I want one I can beat the shite out of and light a cigarette off the top.

Great to cook n. I gave a 6 burner model to a friend of mine who can use more than me. I have a 17” portable. It’s nice.

Also get the Silicon cover to help keep dust off and keep it greased longer.

Yup got one.
I like it.
Bring some steaks and good ones to try them out.

What's the drawback of just getting a griddle insert for my existing propane grill? Instead of an entire new flattop that will take up additional space?
Surface area for cooking and a grease trap.
They make flattop griddle inserts as big as any grill. They also have drain holes that would simply drain any grease into my grill drip pan.

Fish Tacos. Fish on one side, toasting the tortilla on the other
Quesadilla in minutes
Grilled shrimp or chicken and veggies
You will love having 4 burners and lining different foods up. I cook for 4-5 people routinely 36 for the win

Season the griddle with cooking oil before using. Probably need to do it 2-3 times to get a good coat protection.

I have the blackstone adventure ready 17" griddle. Yeah is sounds small but you can fit a ton of burgers, steaks or whatever on there. I would say unless you are cooking for a ton of ppl that 17 inch would plenty big enough for most ppl.
