I'm getting ready for a spring break event this upcoming weekend.

Any advice about Biloxi Beaches would be appreciated. Any preferred local restaurants or attractions would be as well.

I booked late, so my hotel is in Hattiesburg.

EDIT: Thank you all so much. I was considering leaving very early to get to the hotel. Then head there as soon as possible after check in. Maybe I should leave the day prior to Friday.

By the way it starts on Friday 13th. I have a bad feeling about it.

I booked only 5 weeks ahead and I couldn't get ANYTHING in Gulfport or Biloxi. I basically got the Hattiesburg one because I was down to places 40 min to 1 hour away from Biloxi. So I'm stuck.

So in other words

1) Bring your own food and alcohol in case you can't find an open store.

2) Leave for Biloxi from Hattiesburg as soon as possible.

3) obviously find parking asap.

I'm beginning to think I might have to schedule leaving a day before.

And yes, it goes without saying ill be at black spring break. Im considering taking pictures and posting them to the OT.

EDIT: Found a room in Biloxi. It costs a fortune since its a high profile weekend. Decided to get it.

Beaches and Biloxi don’t belong in the same sentence.

Take the ferry out to Ship Island, if you want to see a real beach.

Ask some locals about good food from some mom and pop places. They can point you to some good home cooking.

I also think you should start a thread discussing pick up lines that are applicable to you, your life and situation.

Sometimes simple is best. "Hi, I am Volod. I have a masters in EE, a good job, and a quart of baby oil. Let's get slick."

Leave early if you are going from H'burg. They are shutting down one lane of traffic near Biloxi because of the anticipated 80-100,000 extra people for Black Spring Break. I am sure you will have fun at the concert, bike show and car show. I'd suggest places to eat, but a lot of them will probably close.

Grew up on the beach in Biloxi. Black Spring Break turned Hwy 90 into one giant block party as traffic became totally gridlocked.

It made for some interesting entertainment but we had instances of people venturing into our backyard to relieve themselves. Also found a condom on the ground behind our garage.

WTF were you thinking? You could have gotten a hotel a lot closer. That long commute is gonna ruin your trip

What makes you think that? They cannot handle the traffic overflow in their parking lots and no customers can get in. Traffic really is a nightmare in Biloxi during the event. The city is too small for the crowd. I'd expect another Panama City Beach type crackdown in a couple of years. The infrastructure is just not there to handle an event this size.

Guess you have a point.

Biloxi is a dreadful town with horrific beaches.

Should be a good time.

Coming from someone posting from Gulfport, here for the weekend, and with a growing appreciation of the MS gulf coast and how well it is coming back, we don't come here for the beaches and I can't imagine going to SB here.

Beaches are nice with white sand, it’s the water and surf that sucks.
