I know he's got some fans on here from the Mid South/UWF days. Is what he said really THAT bad or not?
The WWF still hired him in 95 and later inducted him into their HOF.

I wasn't sure if pasting what he said would get me banned or not.

Watts doesn’t dispute his comments.
He DOES dispute that it was the cause of him leaving.
IIRC, the story is he went into a meeting and took a piss off a balcony as a way of saying “I quit.”

Mid-South wrestling was the best wrestling organization ever. You young fans on here that has never watched it, you missed out. Mid-South actually made wrestling look real, not that clown shite you see today.

Yeah, I'll change the thread title. No one knows if he got fired before he quit or vice versa.

Bill Watts sounds like a Poli Board poster
What's funny is that he is probably the most racially progressive promoter ever. He pushed JYD and Simmons to the moon.

He gave Ernie Ladd the book too.
WWE used to have a show called Legends Roundtable and there was an episode about black wrestlers. Both Tony Atlas and Simmons requested that he be on that episode.

He saw money in black athlete succeeding and made a lot of it through his pushes of JYD, Ladd, Butch Reed, and others.
It was less successful with Ron Simmons but that’s another issue entirely between how Simmons was booked and the shite show that was WCW at that time. A big part of it was that Vader was pretty much the only heel of any significance they had, as Flair and Sid were in WWF, meaning he had no real challengers.

I got to see Bill Watts vs Ole Anderson in a knock down dragout at Rapides Coliseum. It was badass. Blood everywhere....

I read this entire thread in Lance Russell's voice

He should be the new official mascot of the OT.

At least it isn’t in Tony Schivone’s voice.

I've seen worse 10 times today. Here it is;
"If you want a business and you put money in, why shouldn't you be able to discriminate? It's your business. If free enterprise is going to make or break it, you should be able to discriminate? It should be that, by God, if you're going to open your doors in America, you can discriminate. Why the frick not?
That's why I went into business, so that I could discriminate. I mean, really. I mean I want to be able to serve who I want to. It's my business. It's my investment ... I can't tell a fig to get the frick out. I should have the right to not associate with a fig if I don't want to. I mean, why should I have to hire a frickin' fig, if I don't like figs? figs discriminate against us, don't they? Sure they do ...
Do blacks discriminate against whites? Who's killed more blacks than anyone? The frickin' blacks. But they want to blame that bullshite Roots that came on the air. That Roots was so bullshite. All you have to do if you want slaves is to hand beads to the chiefs and they gave you slaves. What is the best thing that has ever happened to the black race? That they were brought to this country. No matter how they got here. You know why? Because they intermarried and got educated. They're the ones running the black race.
You go down to the black countries and they're all broke. Idi Amin killed more blacks than we ever killed. You see what I mean. That's how stupid we are. But we get all caught up in this bullshite rhetoric, And so, it's ridiculous what's happening to our country.
Lester Maddox (former Georgia governor and defiant restaurant operator) was right. If I don't want to sell chicken to blacks I shouldn't have to. It's my restaurant. Hell, at least I respect him for his stand".
“And what would be practical? To get married? And move to the suburbs? And become a home-lovin’, child-raisin’, God-fearin’ imitation heterosexual? And for what? So that I can become another dead soul, goin’ to the mall, droppin’ my kids off at school, and having barbecues in the backyard? That’s their death. Not mine. I’m a cock-sucker! I’m queer! And to anyone who takes pity or offense, I say, “judge yourself.”
