Yep. How you gonna let Bill Ray Cyrus kill you on your own rap track?

Grady Smith actually is an authority. All it takes is a click to find out. He wrote for Rolling Stone, The Guardian, and Entertainment Weekly.

And you really know nothing about country music if you really believe your statement about no instruments being utilized in studio.

Lets go to Sam Hunt, who many say inst country and is more of a rap/R&B act.

Here is the list of musicians used in making his only album, Montevallo.

Josh Burkett – electric guitar
Tyrone Carreker – electric guitar, background vocals
Chad Cromwell – drums
Zach Crowell – programming, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, ganjo, piano, keyboards, background vocals
David Davidson – violin, viola
Mike Durham – electric guitar
Fred Eltringham – drums
Ian Fitchuk – piano, drums
Jerry Flowers – bass guitar, acoustic guitar, ganjo
Mickey Guyton – background vocals
Sam Hunt – lead vocals, acoustic guitar, ganjo, piano
Hillary Lindsey – background vocals
Shane McAnally – background vocals
Chris McHugh – drums
Rob McNelly – electric guitar
Devin Malone – electric guitar, acoustic guitar, mandolin, pedal steel guitar, dobro
Josh Osborne – background vocals
Joshua Sales – drums
Scotty Sanders – pedal steel guitar
Jimmie Lee Sloas – bass guitar
Matt Stanfield – piano, keyboards, organ
Ilya Toshinsky – acoustic guitar, ganjo, mandolin

As you can see, even a act like Sam Hunt utilizes instruments that are instrumental to country music like the steel guitar and a mandolin.

Lil Naz X uses a trap beat and loops in prerecorded music for it. Thats not country music.

Here are the credits for Old Town Road

Lil Nas X – lead vocals
YoungKio – production
Trent Reznor – sampled production
Atticus Ross – sample production
Cinco – recording engineering

I'm sorry you invested so much time putting that together because in the end, it doesn't change the fact that Old Town Road sounds more country than any Sam Hunt song.

A 100% manufactured beat is not country. Country music might used electronic beats, but they always lay actual instruments on top of it.

Electronic beats is just the evolution of making music. The electric guitar evolved guitars that allowed people to create sounds in a non traditional way.

The keyboard did the same thing.

People found a way to turn a turntable into an instrument.

People like James Brown used instruments in his music in a non traditional way.

Aerosmith & RUN DMC made Walk This Way, which is a combination of rock and hip hop..And created one of the best hooks in a song ever... IMO.

RATM was metal/hip hop. They are still one of my favorite bands. I liked how there is guitar play in their music that sounds like scratching on a turntable (they also had a DJ as well).

My point is, just about every song has some type of manufactured beat.

With that said, I always liked producers like Dr. Dre who could take a song and create a whole different sound with it. He has created beats that takes pieces of several songs to come up with one song.

I always thought that was impressive. If anyone ever seen Straight Outta Compton they show a little bit of this. How he could go get a listen to all kinds of different music and spend hours and hours just listening and finding different beats that he could speed up or slow down, sync with another song and create something new.

It was only a matter of time that music would be able to be created much easier, but it is still an art.

Lil Nas X needs remix with Cowboy Troy so the whole thing will come full circle.. Without Cowboy Troy their would not be country rap.. Shoot he could even get Bubba on a remix.. I love the Billy Ray remix even though one part sounds nickelback rockstar
