So you appear to understand nothing about conservation, but instead just burp out some emotional pap.

Thanks for contributing.

Good...no point in killing an elephant anyway

They walked up on them on accident and the animals charged (which they are known to do because they are aggressive animals) he was onpy trying to protect himself and those with him.

The money is supposed to go to preservation causes but rarely does. Yes, they can shoot old or sick elephants or Lions but of course they want the trophy Bull Elephant and Alpha Male Lion so just like everything it has its price. Money is rarely if ever seen by villagers or preservations causes but is kept by the corrupt government officials. Money can be made by just having sight seeing tours and safari's you don't have to kill something that is just chilling grazing on some grass.

Except for scientifcally supported reasons to take certain animals out of the herd, which is often what is happening here.

Small money compared to what hunters bring in.

can you tell me the tusk diameter of a trophy elephant or what an alpha lion looks like? Because I know I can't. And I'm pretty sure any OLD sick elephant is going to have the biggest tusk and pretty much any lion with a mane would satisfy some safari hunter who wants to take it back here to show his friends

I doubt they were hunting elephants.

Talked to a big game hunter once who described killing a water buffalo. Said he shot from about 20 yards away and had to shoot it several more times as it stood there with blood pouring out of its wounds. He seemed proud of this feat. I was grossed out. I don't get the attraction.

How do some of you explain how the elephant populations in countries that allow hunting are higher than in places where hunting is banned?
