It's a crazy fine line once again Medic.
What's funny too is it looks like if it does snow, it'll be southshore with NOLA/Houma/Grand Isle catching a bit and none for the northshore and BR unless things really change.

Damn hard freeze till Monday noon. Then Monday night till Tuesday noon. How the hell am I going to shower? Pipes won’t even have time to thaw before the temp drops again.

Another thing to note:
Looks like OKC got a solid 0.5" of unexpected snow tonight and DFW might get a little dusting by the morning.

I'm torn between taking a week's vacation to tend to my water pipes full time or shutting it all off and check into a motel.

It's not much, but 00z Euro is back.
06z NAM is close with the moisture.

From LIX morning forecast discussion 12/31/17...
LONG TERM...
The arctic airmass will dominate the weather across the forecast
area through the entire week and will even be reinforced on
Thursday. Freezes and/or hard freezes are expected each night
into Saturday. The coldest nights will likely be Monday
night/Tuesday morning and Tuesday night/Wednesday morning when a
hard freeze can be expected across nearly all of the forecast
area. The ECMWF does forecast some light QPF across mainly the
coastal areas late Tuesday night and early Wednesday in
association with a vigorous short wave moving through the mean
eastern U.S. upper trough. The GFS solution keeps any precipitation
off of the coast. We will maintain a dry forecast for that period
at this time; however, this will need to be monitored for the
possibility of frozen precipitation.

So am I reading everything correctly, as of 8:00 this morning, this will be the warmest weather we see until next Sunday?

I may have to make the drive from Lafayette to Baton Rouge tomorrow afternoon. Do we think that this will be difficult? Ice? Bridge issues?
Thanks fellas,
