If we announced now that we were ending the tradition of bringing Mike to the games, it'd be that much less ammo for the people who oppose getting a mascot, both this time, and in the future (hopefully very far in the future) when we're in this position again.
This is correct. I am anti peta but pulling a tiger around with a tractor with cheerleaders on top of it is pretty classless.
I still like my huge gerbil tube idea.

As a big cat lover, I am sorry that your tiger Mike VI has terminal cancer and not long to live. But this is LSU’s opportunity to honor Mike VI by replacing him with a new tiger cub. Your “tradition” of keeping a live tiger mascot on campus is a well revered.
It is educational to keep a live tiger on your campus. In fact, it sends the right message to your students at LSU. We believe he was a magnificent tiger Please replace Mike VI. The world is watching and this is LSU’s opportunity to do the right thing.
This is what I changed it to.

Is this article about owner of Big Cat from 2007 accurate? Did they ever find her declared dead husband's body?

Police found no sign of him. Lewis never touched his $6-million estate again - but his family fought over it. Baskin had documents showing he left her in charge of his estate. Lewis' children were mostly left out of the will except for a previously agreed upon trust. In 2002, five years after he disappeared, a court declared Lewis dead. Most of his estate went to Baskin.

Yea, the cats don't come to the games anymore.
uhhh yes it does. If it walks into the cage it goes. If it doesn't, it doesn't go.

Jokes on them, they haven't carted Mike around in his trailer in a few years now.

what we deem abuse
Damn. Let me get on that train. I've suffered years of abuse of having to work, get an education, pay bills, cook my own meals, etc. Someone should take me away to a place where I don't have to pay for a home, health care, fine meals, or access to arguably the best sports in all of America. I wanna be...like Mike.
