This has nothing to do with covid, ticket prices have been like that in a lot of parishes. Most of the time you call the station and they all but tell you, "just send the check here and its literally like it never happened."

I got a ticket in W. Baton Rouge several years ago and the instructions for how to get it changed to a non moving violation were literally printed on the back of the ticket. The officer that wrote the ticket even pointed it out to me.

I wasn't even mad. They were honest that they just wanted my money.

so far you have gotten a speeding ticket for speeding, you have paid a ticket online, where the only problem was your mistake, and you were impatient with process of the way they notify the DA that you have settled your debt...but the lady was nice enough to help you and assure you that they were taking care of it.

Sounds like you are damn near at your breaking point. I am sorry.

Wrong...I was upset with all of it...BS, outdated on line system, having to waste my time getting someone to answer the phone, charging an exorbitant fee, charging me $12 for the pleasure of using their out dated on line system...then after all that, they are so dis-organized that they take almost 3 weeks after I’ve paid to enter that the ticket was paid which led me to make another phone call to clean that up. The price of all this crap is way to steep for just 10 mikes over the speed limit...the parish is a huge joke...

The speed limit is rarely enforced in Baton Rouge. People fly past me doing 85 mph all the damn time. Sometimes it's a cop.

I can't wait till they stop enforcing murder laws, because I'm going to frick up so many people.

Law enforcement giving people tickets in the name of safety is one of the biggest jokes there is. Not to mention the fact that there is a quota.

Back in the late 70's I was heading to B.R. from Miss. on Int. 12. Come over one of the Hammond exits I top the overpass doing 65 and a Hammond parish deputy was parked on the shoulder and turned his lights on and another deputy 50yds or so past the first deputy flags me over with his lights on and I pull in behind 3 vehicles who also got lit up. Took an hour to finally get my ticket.

Imagine. Enforcing the speed limit in a school zone. That’s outrageous.

Do you really not know that any frame that obscures any part of your license plate is illegal and used mostly as an excuse to pull over drivers to check other things?

In 1991, I lived in San Angelo, Texas. One day, I was coming back from Fort Stockton and near the town of Mertzon, I was pulled over by a cop for speeding. I told the officer I was in a hurry to make my shift at the Weather Bureau. I still got a ticket.

A few days later, I drove to the courthouse in Mertzon, and I met with the lady judge. She was showing me the courthouse and offering me food and a coke. It was a scene out of Mayberry. Since I had just started by job I was able to pay the ticket in monthly installments.

Got three speeding tickets in Texas in Five years and have been clean since 1991.

know I'll never spend a dime in some of these places due to their predatory police practices. For example, Washington and their policing of I-49.

That’ll show em. What exactly were you gonna buy there anyway? A tank of gas? They’re better off giving you a ticket.

This parish is a joke.
I got a speeding ticket...I was going 85 in a 75 on the interstate...fair.
The ticket is $290!!!! Such B S.
I recognize a lot of areas of Louisiana are suffering but this is crazy.
I know they don’t care but I will trash this godforsaken parish every chance I get and ensure none of my friends and family spend a dime there.

I know...cool story bro’...don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time...etc.

I go 75 in a 70 and 78 in a 75. 85 makes me nervous.
