it might be somewhat used to people. just put food out and let it eat. dont try and pet her/he at all. let them know you are the food source. when it does start to kinda warm up to you, still just give it food and dont force anything.

with my scary outside cats, ill go out there with them but i never advance towards them and i kinda just act like theyre not even there but also keeping my distance at the same time. my big outside boy cat took months for me to pet him. thing is is that i didnt try to pet him. i knew he was scary so i just fed him and acted real calm when he was around. one day he pretty much just came up to me while i was putting the food out and i started to pet him. now he will come up to me but he is still wary of his surroundings.

stray cats are weird when it comes to this. ive been around cats all my life so i can kinda pick up on little things where i know if i can approach or whether to stay back.

let them initiate everything

I tried to give our cat a bath one time, picked that fricker up, turned the water on, and BAM. I had scratch marks for close to a week.

Here's another random question. I'm assuming he doesn't have his shots, so if we keep him locked up in a separate room away from our other cat, our cat should be fine, right?

Baths for cats are only really needed if they have fleas or they're really dirty/muddy.

Bathing a cat is one of the most useless exercises I can think of, and one which might cause more harm than good.

And FYI, never soak a cat in dog dip. It turns out bad......very, very bad!

My cat back at my parents house in NOLA sleeps by the dryer vent. Always smells like bounce.

Found her by sure way in grand isle. Good wild cat. Kills rabbits and squirrels twice her size

i let my cat go outside and she will roll around in the dirt...then groom herself for an hour.

Pretty much this. You can give it kitty prozac and that will help a little, but it's a hassle. I took in a feral cat and she's a basket case. I've tried to give her the boot a couple times, but she kept coming back.

Let it lose in your house and hope for the best. It will either concede to it's new life or make you it's bitch. Good luck.

One of mine freaks the frick out if you bring her anywhere near the bathtub.

The other couldn't care less, she falls asleep when we bathe her sometimes

If it's twice as big as your car then it's not a squirrel

I used to love when a bird would fly into our house. I wouldn't make it to 30 seconds before that bird was in a cat's mouth.

I did this once. It took a few weeks of wife and I ignoring the cat and pretending we did not see it. The cat ended up becoming a lap cat who came when called.

My kitty is on prozac and it helps. Yes it's a pain but he just hangs out like he's high all day.
