Anyone research this? I believe Napoleon is the guru, so I'm putting out the Bat Signal.

I also look forward to the OT one-liners heading my way.

Cheers.

I believe speed queen is the OT brand of choice

As for the sarcastic comment, ahem:

No expert on laundry machines, but I bought a Samsung top load (the one that has the pre-soak tray thing) about 2 years ago. Best washing machine I've ever owned, and the lid hasn't even exploded off like the recall said.

Serious questions because I have no idea.

I've only owned the cheap top loading washer and dryers. They have all worked perfectly. How does a washer that costs 10x as much clean better?

Wifey is the Research Queen. It takes her months to make a decision after thorough research (she has a PhD and 2 different Master's degrees). She went with LG 2 years ago FWIW.

I'm no expert. But the Maytag washer & dryer set I bought my wife about 12-13 years ago still work perfectly fine. And that's doing laundry for two adults, two kids, and not to mention things as big as king sized comforters.

I bought a Kenmore elite 3 years ago before i F'd up and got married. Wife claims it doesn't get the clothes clean enough. appears to work fine to me. So i guess it depends on who you trust here?!

Speed Queen doesn't cost anymore than most. I have two - one is 20 years old the other about 8. No problems ever with either.

Entirely possible.Sadly, that's true of a lot of what use to be quality products nowadays.

Speed Queen. The old Maytags were great, but the newer ones are junk. Its all about the agitators.

Has anyone noticed that these side loading HE washers don't wash your clothes well at all? Never fully removes dirt blotches or spills.
Do they all do this?
